SurfProxy is a program that will let you browse the Web anonymously. Every computer connected to the Internet can be identified by a unique IP address that gives out geographical information about the machine it is assigned to. You will need to use a program like SurfProxy when you want to reach content that is blocked for your country, of filtered by a firewall in your office or school server.
SurfProxy will route your traffic through proxy servers. Those are computers that are connected to the Internet in several countries and will fool the target web page. For those sites, the traffic will come from the proxy’s IP, not yours. That way, your real IP will not be recorded, and you will be able to access everything without being tracked down.
The only drawback is that, as these servers offer this service for free, they are very often down or very slow. It is advisable that you look for updated lists of free proxy servers frequently, in order to ensure your system stays connected.
This program allows you to use an internal list of proxy servers, use your own list, or even to add proxy servers manually. The program comes with its own basic web browser, which you can alternatively use to surf the Web.
